Purpose and Organization of the true church.

Ephesians 4:11-14

Organization

11 And he agave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;

 This scripture explains clearly how the church must be constituted and it shows us that our Heavenly Father is God of order. This organization was restored in our days, since it was lost when the apostles and many saints were kill. Another scripture in Ephesians 2:20 tell us of the vital part that apostles and prophets have in Christ’s church. They receive power and authority from God (Luke 9:1-3) to guide His work on the earth and bless His children. They are the ones that can receive revelation for the whole body of Christ and they hold the all the keys of the priesthood by which we can receive all the ordinances of salvation and exaltation. 

Purpose

12 For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:

 We know that the term saint refers to a follower of Christ that in spite of the vicissitudes and temptation of life strives to be true to the Savior and his teachings. Therefore the organization of the church is to help the saints to become more like Christ even perfect as He is; at the end we can be perfect in Christ if we truly strive to do so. His grace will attend us and give us the strength to endure. 

An organized church will also allow the work of the ministry to go forward and expand to allt kingdoms, tongues and people. There would not be any other way to accomplish such a marvelous work. 

 Need

 

13 Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ:

 Verse 13 gives us the a vital key principle to understand. If there is not unity of faith among the children of God, then His church with its organization, order and splendor must continue to be on the earth. His work and glory is to help us live the kind of life He lives, even eternal life. He accomplish this work by diverse means and one of them is His church. Apostles, prophets and all the offices previously mentioned must remain in God’s church.

14 That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive;

By having God’s church on the earth ( with all the organization that must have) we can be sure which church to join not only by mere logic but, by revelation; only the true church will encourage you to receive your own personal witness that this is the only true and living church. When you learn this you become your own agent and you will not get deceived. You will learn the principles that govern the church and you will govern yourself too.
